HISTORY OF SHILLONG FRLORENTINE LIONS CLUB 

 

This club was born in the year 2004 . This club was the brain child of Lions club of Shillong. This is the 4th all ladies club in the district.This club grew up with the firing zeal and enthusiasm of the members. They are doing remarkable service activities. It has great potential and some of its leaders have great ability to make the club run faster. 

IN APPRECIATION

Lionswap the ISP provider for Lions Web Sites has been set-up by the Lions of Turkey (MD118). Work on the programmes/script used to compile Web Pages has been the work of Dr. Enzar Tore of the Canakkale Lions, also of Turkey. Shillong Florentine Lion Club consequently displays the national flag of TURKEY on their site as a sign of appreciation of their work/efforts.

Maintenance of Vocational training centre for the poor and needy.

Distribution of food to street children once in a week.

Hapatitis "B" vaccination has been a part of our programme since we were erstwhile members of Lioness Club of Shillong. This has been religiously continued and more than 2500 individuals have been vaccinated in various localities and schools.

Free beautician course for a few needy women to be able to provide lively hood for their families.
